A new member added to our “Mangekyō No Miyako” 《万華鏡の都》 universe featuring a special collection of scents that transform our award-winning Miyako into colorful, kaleidoscopic olfactory art pieces. Kouiro No Miyako, inspired by scenes where traditional scent ceremonies were held with reverence and respect. As the name suggests, Kouiro No Miyako depicts "the ancient capital in the colors of agarwood and spices" and this is a scent composition that truly embodies that essence and that transports you to a place of timeless elegance and refinement.
Kouiro No Miyako is a sophisticated yet harmonious blend of rich and exotic ingredients, meticulously crafted to create a unique and alluring scent that pays homage to the rich cultural tradition of incense making and appreciation. At the heart of this scent lies the rare and exquisite sinking-grade jinkoh oud, highly prized for its warm, superbly rich, and luxurious aroma. This is combined with the delicate sweetness of osmanthus, the exotic spicy notes of clove, sansho pepper, star anise, cardamom, ginger, turmeric, cassia, nutmeg and saffron, creating a captivating, rich scent accord that is both complex and harmonious, while fitting the name of the scent composition, i.e., painting the scent with colors of jinkoh agarwood and fragrant spices. The introduction of white sandalwood, benihi wood, musk, ambergris and orris butter further adds depth, richness, complexity and longevity to this scent composition, making it perfect for a long day or a special occasion. In traditional Japanese culture, the appreciation of jinkoh agarwood is highly prized and only reserved for special ceremonies and events. Jinkoh is considered a symbol of status and is used to create incense that is commonly believed to bring peace, harmony and good luck. In this scent composition, the sinking-grade jinkoh oud and exotic spices take center stage, reminding us of the rich history and cultural significance of these precious materials, and reflecting the glorious and elegant lifestyle of aristocrats and artisans in the past who practised and refined the art. All in all, it is a warm, comforting and uplifting scent with an underlying hint of mystery and sophistication, making it a truly immersive experience that envelops you in the rich and alluring aromas of precious materials deeply connected to the core of the art and culture of traditional incense making and appreciation. It is normal to have some sediments/separations in this scent due to the nature of the raw materials used. Just gently shake well before applying it.
