Mangekyō No Miyako (lit. “The Kaleidoscopic Miyako”) Collector’s Edition 2022 features two new scent compositions, i.e. Enjiiro No Miyako and Kokeiro No Miyako, that transform our award-winning Miyako into colorful, kaleidoscopic olfactory art pieces.
Inspired by the color of the traditional rouge from the classical eras in the East, Enjiiro No Miyako olfactorily paints a series of scenes of the ancient capital Miyako in which rouged, elegant figures are having a formal scent ceremony in a classically adorned chamber. The fragrance of precious woods and blended incenses heated over censers joins harmoniously with the aroma of the traditional makeup worn by the characters in the scenes, creating an illusory experience of teleporting back to the glorious classical eras. On the other hand, Kokeiro No Miyako olfactorily depicts the serenity of a secluded moss garden located somewhere in the ancient capital Miyako, in which the redolence of the surrounding atmosphere seamlessly blends in with the calming scent of a neighboring temple in an idyllic setting. Both of the scents in this Mangekyō No Miyako Collector’s Edition 2022 are our illustrations of the colorful and mesmerizing cultures and heritages of the East in the form of modern perfumery. As our 7th anniversary special release, Mangekyō No Miyako Collector’s Edition 2022 is extremely limited and undoubtedly a must-have in one’s collection.
Each set of our Mangekyō No Miyako Collector’s Edition 2022 comes in a meticulously crafted “yosegi-zaiku” (a type of traditional Japanese marquetry) coffret from Hakone, Japan in which a number of different types of wood chosen for their different color and texture is combined in specific ways to create intricate patterns. These patterns remind us of the geometrical patterns seen in a kaleidoscope which is why we have chosen “yosegi-zaiku” coffrets to house this collection. There are a few types of patterns available and each "yosegi-zaiku" coffret is unique. For each order, the coffret will be randomly selected. All pictures of the coffret shown are for illustration purpose only. The actual coffret received may vary. It is normal to have some sediments in these scents due to the nature of the raw materials used. Just gently shake well before applying.
